Nutrition during alkaline fasting
Low-acid foods include vegetables, herbs, seeds, kernels (pine nuts, sunflower seeds) and nuts. Caution is advised with hazelnuts, as they have a cross-allergy to rye. When eating fruit, pay attention to the degree of ripeness. Citrus fruits, especially lemon (citric acid) are not suitable.
Acidifying foods such as meat, fish, cereal products containing gluten (wheat, rye, spelt, barley, triticale, einkorn and emmer) and especially foods containing cow's milk and casein (whole milk, buttermilk, quark, yoghurt, soft cheese, hard cheese, etc.) should be consciously avoided.
